We’ll take a field trip to Think Pawsitive in Waukesha to learn all about dog sports and watch the dogs in action. They will learn about things like scent work, enrichment, studies done about dogs, and endless other dog-related activities. If you have a child who is obsessed with dogs, this is the perfect camp for them! This extremely fun, jam-packed week includes a guest speaker to talk about dog training so that kids can practice hands-on training with our camp dogs. Just Horsing Around Camp – Ages 7 to 9 (Waukesha shelter only)Ĭalling all horse loving kids! Come spend the week learning everything there is to know about horses! From the different breeds, the proper care needed, how to be safe around a horse, how to read horse body language and so much more! Campers will also get to spend time with our adoptable HAWS animals, play animal themed games, and attend a field trip to the HAWS Schallock Center for Animals to ride our horses! The campers will also have the opportunity to go on a fieldtrip to the Retzer Nature Center to experience their wonderful art program, Art in Nature. In the afternoon, they will create an animal or nature craft project. This week long camp is made for them! Your child will spend each morning meeting adoptable animals, playing games, and spending time outdoors on our 77 acre farm. All while having the chance to learn and interact with a variety of different animals. In this science camp kids will learn to perform simple science experiments with our animals, learn about animal habitats and adaptations, and construct cardboard homes for small animals. Hands-on learning can be the most fun for children!
